Seed Funding or Seed Money is essentially the same thing. It is the initial money any startup needs to get going.

The funding part normally comes from those closely involved, family friends or business partners who invest for a small stake in the startup.

The best course of action is to get your operation going after a well laid out buisness plan and seek seed funding from a prefessional organisation who will not only fund your initial steps they will offer guidance, advice and mentorship. Some will even provide workshops.

Generally we are talking relatively small sums at this stage. The term Venture Capital is for a project that is well developed and needs 6 or 7 figures or more investment.

A startup may just be an idea or have literally just started up but with a vision and novel idea. If an organisation sees potential in your startup, they may be willing to invest approximately $20 – $50,000 for a small stake in your operation.

If you have the idea and have started and looks like you need this type of seed funding for marketing, progress and continuing on the right path to success you will need to find backers. This is the tricky part, but we are here to help you. Check out our dedicated seed funding section where we profile companies that do exactly this………… provide seed funding to people like you, hopefully!
