If you are a domain investor, webmaster or a company owner and are in possession of a quality domain name or website then there are plenty of places where you can sell these assets.
These are well recognised assets (even if mainstreet like Banks, do not fully recognise their value 25 years into the internet!) and there are hundreds of places you can market your domain names for sale.
A few examples being sedo.com , afternic.com , and many mainstream domain auctions and conferences that occur on and offline. Examples being domainfest and Targetted Traffic.
There are hundreds of individual domain brokers also, a simple search of google for ‘sell my domains’ ‘domain broker’ ‘premium domains’ will reveal pages of results for you.
However! As stated, this is for domain names. There also also venues for website sales like Flippa.com . Not enough quality venues for website sales I must say but it is the area of the remainder of intangible asset venues that is the most lacking.
Namely if you own valuable intellectual property like trademarks and content, logos and copyrights, where do you sell them?
Well, there are a few small venues online, individually owned little marketplaces for selling trademarks, again a simple search will find. But the content and standard is very poor and we have never found any sites we could recommend.
There is a onestop venue we have found and apparently they have a very good reputation. StreambankLLC.com
What seems to set this firm apart is they have experience in dealing in all these areas. Of course there are more experienced domain brokering houses but these guys have past experience in transferring trademarks, ip and intellectual property across the board.
Particularly when companies change hands this has to be one of the trickiest parts, especially the legal side. More often than not I think they deal in distress or bankruptcy sales also so it is even more vital to be able to find a company such as theirs.
They appear also to offer appraisals for when companies are borrowing against intangible assets and need to present appraisal and valuation documentation to banks and financial institutions.
If you have experience dealing with Streambank LLC or any other companies you know of in this area we would like to hear from you to update our readers.
